|1946 WCCO Stay At Home Campaign - WA4CZD|
Polio outbreaks in the United States in the summer of 1946 were at an all-time high. In Minneapolis, Minnesota there was a voluntary quarantine - and with no newspaper delivery boys there was no Sunday Funnies. Mayor (and future Vice President) Hubert H. Humphrey came to the rescue and read the Sunday comics over WCCO (and did a pretty good job). There is more about the Stay At Home Campaign and this broadcast at the Minneapolis Star Tribune: http://www.startribune.com/local/blogs/116452338.html

|The Eisenhower Years - WA4CZD|
The Eisenhower Years was a 13-part radio documentary that was produced by Kansas State University in 1969 & 1970. According to Kansas Cooperative Extension Service History, 1914-1989, "It was aired over the K-State Radio Network, the National Educational Radio Network (the fore-runner of National Public Radio), and the Voice of America." I've tagged these files with "1970" & "VOA." Any typo or error is mine...
